Camp Kipwe is located in the desert landscape of Damaraland near the famous rock paintings of Twyfelfontein. The closest towns are Khorixas (90 km) and Palmwag (100 km).
The rustic, but luxurious and almost surreal Kipwe Camp is set amongst the granite boulders, almost completely camouflaged. It is a base to experience the desert and to visit the rock paintings at Twyfelfontein, the Burnt Mountain, the Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest.
The small peaceful camp was built partly into the granite boulder landscape and offers a unique feel of the dry surroundings of Twyfelfontein. The camp consists of ten chalets and three round buildings with the reception, restaurant and bar overlooking the Aba Huab riverbed. Relax at the small pool built into the rock, at the campfire or breathe in the dry air of the desert at the 360º viewpoint.
The nine round dome-shaped bungalows and one deluxe suite with thatch roofs are built into the rock with natural materials. Luxuriously appointed with bright throws and cushions there are also hairdryers, fans and safes. The open-air bathrooms are built into and around the huge boulders and the rooms have large verandas to enjoy the breathtaking desert landscape. Rooms furthest away from reception are the quietest.
